Philip Greenspun > You're saying that it is the natural state for humans to live in a welfare state with open borders I think there's a variety of states that humans can live in.  Some result in peace and prosperity, and others result in poverty and war.  IMO, a world in which people are free to rent housing, take jobs, and associate with whom they please without first seeking government permission is more likely to be one that results in peace and prosperity.
