Ideally, I would like to live in a world where people can move as freely between countries as people can move between US states and countries in the Schengen Area in Europe.\
\
However, I realize that\'s a distant prospect for the time being. So, as intermediary steps, I favor:\

I don\'t think border guards, per se, should exist (except on private land), just as I don\'t think border guards should be stationed at state borders.\
\
However, I do support police forces who act to guard against bad actors and pursue them for restitution.\
\
if there were practical legal routes for normal people to live and work in the US, most people would choose those routes. That would free up a huge amount of law enforcement resources to pursue truly bad actors (thieves, murders, terrorists, etc).
