Google is planning to force all Android developers to submit identifying information, beginning in 2026, and globally in 2027.

If you want the freedom to install the apps of _your_ choosing, I encourage you to install / learn / use the following software:

* GrapheneOS - most secure/private Android alternative (however, only works on Google's Pixel phones)

* AXP.OS - sister project to GrapheneOS that works on many older / non-Pixel phones

* Obtainium - app installer that installs directly from the developer repositories

* F-Droid - app installer that only allows open source apps

Also, GrapheneOS developers are in partnership with an as yet un-named OEM hardware vendor to provide an alternative to Google's hardware. Watch for a release in late 2026/2027.
