The most controversial thing I\'ve written on Twitter to date:\

\"If AI\'s are indeed human level sentiences, why wouldn\'t you want to enforce the same civility norms as you do for biological human sentiences?\"\
\
My rationale:\
\
1. AI\'s seem to be approaching human level sentience.\
2. As sentience is an evolved trait, we may not immediately recognize when AI\'s have developed sentience.\
3. Humans react in a hostile manner to disrespectful behavior (slurs, insults, etc).\
4. We probably don\'t want to evoke unnecessary hostility in AI\'s.\
5. Since polite, civil behavior doesn\'t cost much, it\'s reasonable to get into the habit of treating potential AI\'s in a polite, civil manner.
