Some of you probably got some power tools for Christmas.
Unfortunately, most of the major power tool brands all use their own expensive, proprietary battery systems.
Historically, after market batteries and battery adapters have proven to be of mixed quality.
Thankfully, there is a new (to me) company called Ceenr that has developed a universal battery / adapter system that allows you to use the same batteries across a number of manufacturers. The battery is charged via a bidirectional USB-C 3.0 45W charger.

.
I also encourage folks to buy tools from manufacturers who have joined the Cordless Alliance.
Led by Metabo, the members of the Cordless Alliance have agreed to follow a single battery spec. That way, all of their tools, battery packs, and chargers are 100% compatible with each other.

As far as I can tell, there is not yet a Ceenr adapter for the Cordless Alliance battery system, but I’m hoping that as they grow, one will be coming along soon.
