Manufacturing or reloading 7.62x39mm ammunition at home is generally considered more difficult and significantly less cost-effective than reloading common western calibers like 5.56x45mm NATO.
While the physical process of reloading is the same, the 7.62x39 cartridge presents several unique challenges regarding component availability and firearm mechanics.
