Federally legal to 3D print a firearm for personal use (no serial number required under current federal law).
Restrictions: - Cannot manufacture with intent to sell without FFL - All NFA rules apply (suppressors, SBRs still require tax stamps) - ATF “ghost gun” rule (frames/receivers) has been in legal flux — verify current status - State-level bans/restrictions: CA, NY, NJ, IL, HI, WA, MD are the most restrictive — check local law before proceeding
