Shower thoughts: Cecil the Lion Hunter received world-wide condemnation for killing a photogenic, popular animal. While hunting is not my thing, I don't think he deserved the villification he received. After all, how many people eat hamburger, wear leather, or otherwise consume animals of equal moral worth as Cecil?
Would sentiment have been different had the hunt been more "fair"? Suppose the hunting license were predicated on arming the dentist in such a way that Vegas bookies would've given him a 50/50 chance of surviving the hunt. Maybe he'd have to hunt wearing nothing but a bowie knife and a bowtie. Would sentiment have still been as hostile?
