A friend asks:
"RUST VERSUS ROT?
I am working on a feasibility report on building materials for land based remote surveillance outposts in Gabon's 23 marine protected areas. The two materials being considered are wood and steel shipping containers structures."
My answer:
Personally, I wouldn't build with either wood or shipping container.
Assuming they need something:
* cheap
* durable
* comfortable
* rust proof
* easy to build with unskilled labor
* mold resistant
I would put up walls with Hesco barriers and a George Nez-style hypar roof. Burlapcrete the walls if you need a finished surface and/or want to protect the Hesco steel mesh.
