My response:
You can't value anything if you're dead.
Imagine if you were dying of thirst in the desert, and passerby said "You know, you wouldn't value water very much if you bought a house by the lake." Maybe? So what? You'd still very much like that glass of water now, right?
Likewise, I'd still much rather have millions of years to solve the problem of ennui, than become decrepit and die in the next 30 years.
Worst case, if my life has lost its luster a million years from now, I can always kill myself.
