I used to think most people were open to logic and evidence. That they cared about being internally consistent, and tried to avoid being a hypocrite. And I would waste time constructing careful arguments, supported by high quality evidence.
I've since realized it's almost always a waste of time. Most people don't give a shit about the truth. Often, they don't even realize they're being internally inconsistent.
